Show compressed files in another color

2011-05-21 16:21:32

Q: Is there any way I can display files in the tabs of Total Commander like Windows Explorer, with different colors for compressed, hidden, system, etc?

A: It's a bit hidden, but you can configure that action, and better, by going to the menu Configuration - Options - Color - Define colors by file type - Add. There, you don't select a file type like *.jpg, but push the button marked "Define". That buttong will bring you to an screen similar to the one for searching files, but, instead, it gives you the options for defining what kind of files should be show with what colors.

For example, I've got the compressed files shown in dark blue by marking the compressed attribute on that screen, and ignoring all the others options.
